REMIX NOTES (more notes coming soon)

This game is designed to be easy and fun to remix (though maybe not quite yet), and you're free to use it however you'd like. Using generative AI and img2img you can quickly create new levels or dream up entirely different vibes in minutes!

  • All pixels are stamped with Pen tool, making it easy add custom styles and effects!
  • Uses First Class Lists architecture to make extending sprites with new abilities and effects easy to do
  • Logic is organized in Sprite "hierarchies":
    • Stage Manager controls the overall game state like how and when to generate rooms and NPCs
    • Layers controls the parallax and Sprite stamping order
    • NPCs is where the AI goes
    • Inputs: Cat handles inputs (from player or eventually AI), animation, and final Sprite stamping
  • If you'd like to layer sprites in other parallax planes besides the one the player is in (for example, for background or foreground characters) then understanding this video may help

Love all scenes in this game. Especially this one.

Combo system is really fun. Looking forward to seeing you expand it into a complete game.
Cats are sooooooo cute!
